The distinctiveness of Ghana’s Culture emanates from the history of it’s people. This package presents an amazing enlightenment of the rich history of the people in the Northern part of Ghana which dates back from the Songhai Empire in the 14th century. After disembarking from the Tamale Airport our tour guide and driver will drive you through Tamale the capital city of the Northern Region. Tamale is known for it’s traditional mosques, motor bikes, local buildings with conical straw roofs and fabric. Afterwards drive to the Savannah region, the western part of the North. The trip will take you to the land of vibrant culture which has been upheld like a lamp to illuminate the future. Stop at Larabanga and visit the oldest mosque in West Africa built in 1421 and visit the sacred mystic stone. From December to April, you are guaranteed to see elephants, baboons, Leopards, Antelopes and other animals in the largest wildlife Refugee in west Africa, the Mole national Park.

Itinerary

You’ll start at
Accra Tourist Information Centre, Osu Avenue
1. Tamale, Ghana
Drive through the third – largest city in Ghana
2. Larabanga Mosque
On the way from Tamale to the Savannah Region, you will make a stop at the oldest mosque in West Africa founded in 1421, which was built in the Sudanese architectural style in the village of Larabanga, Ghana. It has undergone restoration several times since it was founded in 1421, after which you will be taken to the Larabanga Mystic Stone.
3. The Mystic stone, Larabanga
On arrival at the Mystic Stone, you will be told the history behind the stone which returned to its original place of rest after several attempts of moving it to a different location.
4. Mole National Park
Visit the National Park that provide homes for over 93 mammal species including elephants, hippos, buffalos and warthogs, and also experience tree species of the park.
5. Mognori Eco-village, Mognori, Ghana
Visit to the Mognori Eco – Village where you will get a village guided walk in addition to a canoe safari and also witness the unique dance steps and music of the people.
